Cotswold Farm Park – Adam’s Farm
There are many great visitor attractions in the Cotswold’s with the Cotswold Farm Park being just one of them. The Cotswold Farm Park is owned and run by Adam Henson and his business partner Duncan Andrews. Adam is a well-known TV celebrity and regularly appears on our TV screens on shows like Country file and Lambing Live where the farm park is better known as Adam’s Farm.
The Cotswold Farm Park was founded over 40 years ago by Adam’s father Joe who wanted to protect valuable rare breed animals, but also breed from those animals as well. Today there are over 50 flocks of animals on the farm ranging from pigs and cows to chicken and sheep. The Demo Barn is a popular attraction amongst young and old alike. During March and April you can watch the lambs being born, and throughout the year you can experience the baby lambs and kid goats being bottle fed, and if you are very lucky you may even get the chance to feed them yourselves.
During the summer months you can watch the sheep have their fleeces removed, and there is also a Sheep History Pyramid Show which gives you an insight in to how the different breeds of sheep have developed over the years.
The Touch Barn is another popular place to visit during your stay at the Cotswold Farm Park. This is where some of the smaller animals are housed, animals like new born chickens and ducklings, rabbits, guinea pigs, lambs and piglets. There is always a trained member of staff on hand at all times to answer any questions you may have.
The Cotswold Farm Park has a wonderful two mile wildlife walk, a walk that is a must as you experience the wonderful views of the Cotswold Hills. You can download the map of the walk from your computer at home, but should you forget there are copies available in the Farm shop on your arrival at the Cotswold Farm.
There are plenty of other activities on offer as well. There is a sandpit and play area for the younger children to enjoy, and for the slightly older ones there are battery operated tractors to ride. There is a kitchen where you can sit and relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of cake, or you can always indulge and stay for dinner and experience some homemade sausages made from the pigs on the farm. There are also a couple of snack bars dotted around the farm as well should you need to use them.
If you own a horse then you can take advantage of the Horse Fun Rides that are held throughout the year. Simply turn up with your horse and take advantage of the 12 mile course which has over 60 fences to test your equestrian skills. Simply check out the Cotswold Farm Park website for times and dates of when these events are held.
Adams Farm Caravan Park
The Cotswold Farm Park or Adam’s Farm also allows you to take advantage of its caravan site and Caravan Park.
